In every field, there is a well-documented communication gap between consumers and researchers. As the pace of media increases, this gap is predicted to grow, and researchers will be challenged to help the public appreciate and understand their work.
In biomedical research, there is a powerful impetus for scientists to communicate with the public. The community is frequently forced to rely on the media to interpret advances in research. The goal of the SCRIBE is to make spinal cord injury (SCI) research accessible and meaningful to residents of BC through easy-to-ready summaries of SCI research happening at ICORD and around the world.
SCRIBE is the virtual extension of the Community SCI Resource Centre, a joint partnership between the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries (ICORD) and the British Columbia Paraplegic Association (BCPA).

Excellent job on this website. I look forward to watching future posts.
Thanks Michael. A start, at any rate. Please share it around your colleagues. Great to have SCI researchers chiming in. Cheers!
Nice job! A great way to bridge the gap between public and researcher.
